While the rest of the country was in the middle of winter, The Magnetack took a break from snowy Denver and traveled down to sunny Miami for a weekend of art, sun, and fun. On the heels of the highly anticipated Coconut Grove Art Festival came the South Miami Art Festival. This South Miami event followed at the perfect time, as it catches the talented artisans from the Grove show and allows them to present for an additional weekend in the beautiful city of Miami.
The weather was especially spec"tack"ular sunny, 74 degrees with a breeze. Live jazz, a beer garden, and great eats attracted a huge crowd consisting of seemingly just as many dogs as humans! The best part about this event is it’s free to the public and holds some of the most talented artists, photographers and designers around.
One especially talented photographer featured at the South Miami Festival was Greg Davis. His images are rich in emotion and portray real life in the most beautiful light. His amazing work earned him Best in Photography at the 2015 Coconut Grove Art Festival. Greg's personal story is an interesting one too – he travels the world capturing different cultures and also works as a National Geographic photographer in his spare time.
The artistic skillsets abound at the South Miami Art Festival. And if arts isn’t your thing, then the food, drinks, atmosphere and dogs will definitely win you over.
